2020 Halloween Putz House Spooky Mint and Lavender Fortune Teller House
Every Halloween and Christmas since 2013 I’ve been making putz styled houses. Putz houses are a very old traditional holiday decoration. What is a Putz house? The name for Putz houses evolved from the German word “putzen” which means to clean or to decorate. And the name was acquired by little houses that were placed around the nativity scene for Christmas decorations in the early 1900s. Yes, these adorable little houses have been around for about 100 years. Typically made from thick cardboard/card stock.
My Style of paper houses though are much different than your typical Putz house. I make mine to fit the creepy cute Aesthetic. The houses are made from cardboard and each one is handmade with tons of love. This particular house I decided to go with a lavender, mint, and black color scheme. This house has a total of 28 hours put into it! From painting to glittering no details were spared. Each miniature I hand painted all new colors and details to. This particular house has a pastel goth fortune teller theme. All the glitter on the house has also been sealed to prevent pesky black glitter leaving its trail behind!
the base of the house is 10x8 inches the house it’s self is 11 inches tall by 8 inches wide
and don’t let the word paper fool you these houses are extremely sturdy and well constructed it’s also on a thick sturdy base.
This house also lights up! The switch is located on the bottom of the house. It takes 3 aaa batteries
Each house is one of a kind never to be duplicated as each one I consider a work of my art.
